Gwyddelwern
The Church of St. Beuno has a very interesting medieval roof and a very high spire. There is a fishing pool on the edge of the village, a large sawmill, a school, post office and a skillfully reconstructed medieval barn, which is now an inn, called Ty Mawr. “The Hill of the Seven Knights”, Bryn Saith Marchog is mentioned in the ‘Mabinogion’ Welsh Legends and is a little further up the valley. This area was also the home of Owain Glyndwr’s brother, Tudor.
